- a vertical portal for Teachers and School around the world.
Teachers have the opportunity to find teaching jobs, meet other teachers, network and explore hundreds of topics relating to teaching and living overseas.
Schools have the opportunity to promote their schools and programs, find great teachers, network and have access to resources for anything from summer or winter camps for their students to training programs, text books and curriculum.
It's all here. engGo is the site for teachers and schools.
The engGo team has been piecing together what we thought would be best for a teacher, schools and student centred website where networking and learning was possible on all levels.
The concept of engGo has been a work in progress since 2003 but actual development and scripting didn't start until shortly into 2007. While we wish we could have dedicated all our time to development, we didn't have an investors or start up capital and thus have had to work day jobs to pay for the development of engGo.
The Open Directory for Schools is a listing for all English schools to list their programs in an effort to promote their programs and to recruit both students and professionals.
The intention when this site first started was to provide a way for teachers to find job teaching abroad but the internet makes the world an interesting place. A person who views the site from the USA would consider any country outside the USA abroad or international while an Australian would consider the USA abroad or international. Since we have visitors to our site from every corner of the earth where there is internet, every country in the world is listed here and every school in the world has an opportunity to get a listing in this directory.
Next was the important task of categorizing things. At the moment, the site is dedicated exclusively to language programs, public schools, private schools, international schools, universities and colleges with English Language Programs. With the billions of schools out there in the world with topics ranging from small engine mechanics to cooking to seismography to astronomy to physiotherapy to... you get the point. We had to draw the line in the sand somewhere. English and public school education is the focus here at engGo.
We hope you find this site immensely useful and we encourage you to contact us with feedback and suggestions.
